COMMUNITIES SELECT FWA DIRECTORS

Family Water Alliance wishes to express sincere congratulations to two of its own Directors; John Amaro was recently elected as a Glenn County Supervisor, and Ray Dalton was named Mayor of Paradise.

John Amaro, one of the original founders of FWA, has been a member of the FWA Board for ten years, and has been a farmer in Glenn County for over thirty years. However, his endeavors do not stop there, he also has served on the Glenn County Planning Commission, Farm Services Agency, Reclamation District 2047 Board of Trustees, the Rice Producers of California, and is a partner in Barceloux Bros. Auto Supply. John ran on a platform stressing quality of life, public safety, planned growth, economic development, protection of private property and water rights, maintenance of our flood control system, and preservation of Glenn County’s most valuable industry – agriculture. John received over 50% percent of the vote in the March primary to avoid the need for a runoff, winning the right to represent the Third District, which consists of a large rural sector of western Glenn County.

Ray Dalton has served on the FWA Board of Directors for three years, has served on the Paradise Town Council for four years, and was recently elected to serve as the Mayor of Paradise for the current year. Dalton has been an inspection contractor for 15 years, and currently is the owner/operator of Dalton Inspections. Ray also keeps busy by appearing on a weekly radio show entitled "Mayoral Monday" on KKXX, 9:30 AM, every Monday from 3-4 p.m. Ray has also served as the Director of the Paradise Planning Commission, is a Member of the Board for Western Sierra Residential Care, and serves as President of the Paradise Parade of Flags. He describes himself as a fiscal, social and moral conservative, an avid hunter and fisherman, and an advocate of private property rights, water rights, flood control, and agriculture.

Again, Congratulations to both Mr. Amaro and Mr. Dalton. They have both served endless hours working to protect and preserve the rural agricultural communities they call home. Their dedication and commitment should be applauded by all. n
