Sacramento River Update

The Nature Conservancy Projects

The following projects developed by The Nature Conservancy and funded by CalFed are scheduled for implementation along the Sacramento River .  

1. Colusa County:  Collect data for use in future land use decisions and plan 

     protection and restoration activities in Colusa Sub-Reach between River 

     Miles 144-164.   Cost: $1,488,009  Timeline: 7/1/2003 to 7/1/2006  

2. Glenn & Butte Counties:  Restore 1,218 acres of riparian habitat between 

     River Miles 178-206.  Cost: $4,950,000.  Timeline: 9/1/2003 to 9/1/2006

 

  

The following projects developed by the Nature Conservancy are scheduled for funding.  

      1. Butte County: Restoration of the confluence area of the Sacramento River, 

          Big Chico, and Mud Creeks.  Acquire fee title, complete baseline 

          assessments, draft restoration and management plans.  Cost: $2,882,945   

          Timeline:  Start at funding and complete three years later.

      2. All Counties:  Develop and evaluate multi-species conservation flow regime 

          recommendations.  Cost: Unknown  Timeline: Start at funding and complete 

          three years later.
